About the Game Hint

This is a blog about a game hint. It’s not a game hint itself.

Our friends at FRC Top 25 contacted us a few weeks ago and said how cool it would be if they could build a show around a game hint. We thought it would be cool too. After some back and forth about how we could get it to work, here’s the deal:

FAQ 6. Scholarships as an Alumni Benefit

Blog Image:

The FIRST Scholarship Program is the backbone of the FIRST Alumni Programs. Although the majority of FIRST Scholarships require applications during a Participants Senior year, when an applicant is still an active FIRST Participant (or Rising Alum), the benefits are gained once the applicant is an alum.

67% of the current 2015 FIRST Scholarship Opportunities are renewable over multiple years, but only 8 of the current Scholarship Providers allow first-time applicants to apply after they have already become a college student.

FAQ 5. Scholarships for FIRST Tech Challenge Participants

Blog Image:

Scholarships available to FIRST Tech Challenge Participants are a subset of the total FIRST Scholarships being made available; currently for the 2015 Scholarship Program that’s 130 Providers making available over $15 million in Scholarships to Participants in FIRST Tech Challenge.

You can easily search for scholarships available to FIRST Tech Challenge participants, by using the filter functions at . Select FTC from the ‘Program’ drop down then hit update.

New Motor Controllers – 2015 Legality

As mentioned in this blog, we said we’d notify the community before Kickoff if the Victor SP and Talon SRX motor controllers from VEX Robotics and Cross the Road Electronics will be legal for 2015. After review by the 2015 Control System Development Team and the 2015 Beta Teams, we’ve determined that these controllers will be legal for 2015.

FAQ 4. When to apply

Blog Image:
FIRST Scholarships Applications

We get a lot of questions about when to apply for FIRST Scholarships – especially from younger Team Members. The VAST majority of FIRST Scholarships require that a Participant submits their application during his/her senior year of high school. There are, however a few FIRST Scholarship Providers who accept applications during an applicant’s junior year, and even more importantly, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute requires that an applicant apply during their junior year.
