Week 6 and a Great Blog from a Student

Week 6

I can’t believe it’s Week 6 already!  Along with 16 other events, we’ve got two District Championships on tap for this weekend, Pacific Northwest and Indiana, at which I expect we’ll see some fantastic Recycle Rush action.  I’m heading to Indiana myself to see their first-ever District Championship.

To Ship Free or not to Ship Free?

Today's blog post is from FRC Logistics Manager, Krista Pratt.

We are very excited to have 600 FRC teams attending the FIRST Championship in St. Louis, MO. One expanded logistical challenge is robot return shipments from St. Louis.

Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia

Hi there!

My name is Joey and I am in my second semester of a Bachelor of Engineering at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia. I am originally from the US which kind of begs the question "why did I come halfway around the world to go to university?" I came to Macquarie for the first time to participate in the FIRST Robotics Asia Pacific Invitational hosted by Macquarie. When the team was here, I took a tour of the University and fell in love with the campus.

Check out this great TV show from Michigan about FRC.

The show is produced by the State Champs! Network, which is dedicated to High School sports in Michigan, and is broadcast on several local TV channels as well as made available on the web. Weekly shows throughout the season are planned.

2015 FRC Championship Updates

Guest blogging this week is Toby Clarke, the Program Manager for FIRST Robotics Competition. Toby manages the behind-the-scenes logistics that make our season possible, in addition to a lot of other tasks- including logistics for Championship. Some of you will have the opportunity to meet him, as he is an FTA for several events this year.

Hello FRC Community!

With the Championship in St. Louis now not far away, we want to provide you with an update on the ongoing planning for this event. We are very excited about this program.

Dallas Regional Final Matches – Resolution

As I noted in an earlier blog, we have been gathering data from participants regarding the events that took place during the final matches at the Dallas Regional. Based on the information I have, I believe the teams were not treated in a way that meets FRC standards. At a minimum, it appears two teams were not given the opportunity to make the ‘quick remedy’ promised under G7 to get them in a compliant starting position before the final match.
