2015 FIRST Championship

New Volunteers

FIRST® is excited to announce that we are actively recruiting volunteers for the 2015 FIRST® Championship, FIRST® Tech Challenge World Championship, FIRST® LEGO® League WORLD CLASS World Festival, and Junior FIRST® LEGO® League World Festival Expo. With close to 1000 student teams across the four FIRST programs, volunteers are vital parts in making this memorable experience a success.

How to Apply to Volunteer

1. Create a Volunteer Information and Matching System (VIMS) Account - VIMS User Guide

2. Find your Program's Championship Event  

          Select Program
          Select “USA”
          Select “Missouri”   

3. Click in and apply for one of our Program Championships

          FRC – FIRST Championship
          FTC – FIRST Tech Challenge World Championship
          FLL – FIRST LEGO League World Festival
          Jr.FLL – Junior FIRST LEGO League World Festival Expo

4. US/Canadian volunteers complete Youth Protection Screening (Click HERE for Screening Guide)

5. Check for official assignments in VIMS. Volunteer Assignments are not guaranteed.

Minimum Age to Volunteer
FRC/FLL – 16 years of age
FTC/ Jr.FLL – 13 years of age, if a parent/parent approved guardian is volunteering alongside the minor; otherwise 16 years of age

Coming to St. Louis

**PLEASE WAIT FOR AN OFFICIAL ASSIGNMENT BEFORE COMING TO ST. LOUIS – YOU MAY CHECK YOUR VIMS ACCOUNT FOR ASSIGNMENTS. WE WELCOME EVERYONE TO JOIN US FOR THIS SPECTACULAR EVENT AS SPECTATORS!**

Before coming to St. Louis, make sure to take a minute and read orientations, maps, what to bring, and other important information listed below. Please make sure to wear your badge throughout the event.

Volunteer Online Orientation - These orientations will be venue specific, recorded and posted here for your viewing. We encourage you to attend the live session so that you can ask any questions you may have. 

Dome/America's Center Orientation (FRC and FLL)

Wednesday, April 15 7:00PM-8:00PM EDT

Union Station Orientation (FTC and Jr.FLL)

Wednesday, April 15 8:15PM-9:15PM EDT

Onsite Registration and Badging

FRC and FLL registration will be at the America's Center.

JrFLL and FTC registration will be at Union Station.

Important: Bring a photo ID and your registration barcode to receive your name badge and volunteer t-shirt.

Check with your Volunteer Coordinator for instructions on where and when to report after receiving the badge.

** Note: Volunteers assigned after April 15 will not be able to pre-register for the badge.  Please bring a printout of your assignment confirmation and a photo ID to the Registration Desk to receive your badge.

Suggested Items to Bring

  • Safety Glasses (FRC/FTC) - Safety glasses will be provided onsite

  • Tiara/Silly Hat

  • Comfortable, close-toed shoes 

  • Snacks

  • Small Umbrella 

  • Coat

NOTE: Please do not bring personal items into the venue as there are no lockers or bag checks for your belongings. FIRST does not guarantee the security of any personal items.

    Housing

    After you've been assigned to a role, you will receive an email to register for a badge and book your hotel accomodations.
