The FIRST Forums, which we’ve used in the past for technical questions, is currently only accepting new users manually. Although all posts are viewable without logging in, new users will need to submit a request to and request an account. This restriction is temporary, but necessary to remedy larger issues. The resolution for this issue isn’t immediate so, at least for this season, we’re going to transition technical questions from the FIRST Forums to the Q&A system created by Quextit.

Hopefully you’re already familiar with Quextit’s tool, as we use it to answer game and rule related questions (at and as a place to ask specific Suppliers questions about their products ( If not, Quextit has put together a handy User Guide with instructional videos.

An “FRC Technical” category has been added to the top of the Supplier list. This is the new place for all teams to ask technical questions for items and implementations specific to FRC. Any user can create an account and submit questions. We ask that all questions are clear, specific, respectful, and concise.

Where to Find the FRC Technical Forum

We hope that’s helpful, and good luck!

Is this to reduce spam? if so, great!

Bob: Yes, this should help us cut down on the amount of spam we received in the Forums, while ensuring that technical questions from Teams get answered expediently.

Why don't you switch to recaptcha its a anti spam bot that google created.
I had this problem with spammers on my forum (i use phpbb) the spam problem stopped.

Are there any other suppliers for flex hubs and gears? I have been waiting over two weeks for Andymark to have supplies on new items. There needs to be additional ways to get parts rather than 98% from Andymark. It is becoming quite obvious of the monopoly of parts they have.

Are there rule updates to the 2013 FRC Robotics competition.

Team Updates are posted every Tuesday and Friday through February 15, then every Tuesday until Championship. That's your official source for any major updates re: game rules. Hope that helps!

I have installed Labview, but can not get updates to be applied.

If you build your robot upward, will all of the upper levels of the robots have to stay in the parameters of the base of the robot, or may the go outside of it? (as in the part is stationary but it extends past the frame)

We don't answer rules questions here. Please ask on the Q&A:

We are having a problem simply setting a digital output signal high on request. We are using Java and have the wheels working fine with the joysticks. We don't have any breakout boards just the ribbbon cable from the DIO cRIO module (slot 2) to the sidecar. What class/method should be used and which pins will go it be associated to?
