FRC Kickoff - Saturday, January 9, 2016
FRC Kickoff marks the beginning of the design and build season. Teams have the opportunity to meet at "local" Kickoffs to compare notes, get ideas, make friends, find mentoring teams, learn the game, pick up the Kit of Parts, and get geared up for the exciting competition season.

Please remember that FIRST does not oversee or control the setting or activities at the Local Kickoffs. We at FIRST count on the Local Kickoff Coordinators and you, the participants, to provide a safe environment and to make this a positive experience for all attendees.
Teams may register for a local Kickoff through TIMS, but must call or email the main contact directly to register for workshops. Capacity varies for each location, so please ensure your team’s TIMS record reflects an accurate number of attendees. Registrations are first come, first served.
Teams that have not paid their initial registration fee will not receive a Kit of Parts (KOP).
When registering in TIMS you may select to have your KOP shipped to either a Local kickoff or to your team shipping address.
Teams that choose to pick up their KOP at a local kickoff will receive a KOP receipt when they arrive at that location. An adult mentor must sign and return the KOP receipt during kit distribution. Kits will not be released to student members of the team.
If you have selected to have your KOP shipped direct to your team shipping address, you will not receive a KOP receipt at the kickoff. The shipping and tracking documentation for shipments to a team shipping address will provide proof of receipt.
If a team is unable to pick-up its KOP at the Local kickoff selected, an alternate team may be designated to do so. The team unable to attend must be registered to pick-up their KOP at the Local Kickoff AND provide FIRST with an authorized surrogate kit pick-up letter, signed by the Main or Alternate Contact, on School or Sponsor letterhead that includes: 1) Your team number 2) the KOP pick-up location 3) the name and team number of the surrogate team picking up the KOP. All surrogate kit pickup letters must be received at FIRST by January 4, 2016.

All persons attending the Kickoff events are required to complete a FIRST Consent and Release form. Attendees under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian's signature on the form. Student team members and parents or legal guardians may submit an electronic signature via STIMS. Adult mentors or other non-team members must still submit a signed paper copy of the form. Attendees at a FIRST local kickoff may be videotaped or photographed for promotional purposes.
