1.  The U.S. Air Force is providing a leadership training opportunity at Vandenberg Air Force Base, CA;  travel and lodging expenses included!

This message is for FTC and FRC Mentors and Coaches who are also teachers.  The U.S. Air Force recognizes the importance you bring to today's youth, serving as  Coaches and Mentors who are inspiring the technical leaders of tomorrow.  As annoucned by Lt. Gen. Darren McDew at Championship, with the overwhelmingly positive feedback from the program last year, the U.S. Air Force is again offering a leadership training opportunity for a select group of 24 FTC and FRC Mentors and Coaches.  We encourage you to apply now to attend this leadership seminar.

This training opportunity will be held July 29 and 30 at Vandenberg AFB, Lompoc, CA.  Visit the official Air Force Leadership Training page For full details and application information.

2.  Details for new "Dean's Homework" are now available.

Create a two-minute mini-documentary on how FIRST has impacted you, your team, your school, or your community. Remember: your video is about impact, so use the two minute limit wisely. Craft your story for maximum impact by including specific examples about how you’ve seen FIRST change lives. The mini-documentary should focus on the impact on people – whether that is an interesting story about one person or a life-changing story of a group of people.

3.  A new low-cost bulb, produced by Samsung Electronics, is now available.  The team price is only $5, with a suggested retail of $15.  This basic bulb, to be marketed as the “e-watt saver,” is targeted for easy sale due to the lower price point.  It shares a warm 2700K color temperature with prior e-watt saver bulbs and is a direct replacement for a 60W incandescent bulb. The bulb cost is lower due to eliminating the dimmer and omni-directional features.  Visit the FIRST e-watt saver website for full details.
